"Sinnissippi" (Rocky Waters): The Rock River, which runs along the park, was named Sinnissippi (meaning "rocky waters") by Native American tribes who inhabited the region.

Boating & Fishing: A public boat ramp provides access to the Rock River. Anglers enjoy fishing along the 1.5 miles of bank, often catching catfish, bass, and crappie. Primitive camping is available on an island, accessible only by boat.
Picnicking: Three main picnic areas are available with tables, shelters, grills, and playground equipment. One site offers a spectacular view over the river valley.
