This adult calling encourages ward temple and family history momentum through regular inspiring updates and demonstrations. This calling distributes updates to all adult members of the ward, upcoming training, local and stake events, ward goals, and progress toward temple and family history targets. This person regularly provides tools and techniques that help member conduct their own research and take family names to the Temple. This person works with the youth to train and plan ward activities supporting Temple and Family History activities.
Key Interfaces and Coordination
Primary liaison between the Ward Temple and Family History Committee and the Stake Temple and Family History Council:
Attend stake council meetings (monthly or as scheduled) to receive direction, materials, and stake goals.
Relay stake priorities, resources, and announcements to the ward committee and integrate them into monthly updates.
Report ward progress, challenges, and successes back to the stake council for alignment and support.
Coordinate ward participation in stake events, indexing challenges, or consultant training.
Direct collaboration with the Ward Temple and Family History Committee Chair:
Work together to recommend ward-specific goals, plan training sessions, and track progress.
Coordinate scheduling and logistics for ward family history activities and classes.
Close partnership with the Relief Society Counselor over Family History:
Share monthly updates and event details for inclusion in Relief Society meetings, newsletters, or activities.
Prepares youth to teach family history segments during Relief Society weekday or Sunday meetings.
Identify and support sisters needing one-on-one help with FamilySearch or temple preparation.
Align efforts to involve Relief Society in ward indexing goals, temple trips, or youth activities.
Helps the Youth Temple Coordinator organize and conduct frequent youth-led temple trips.

Quarterly, you will partner with the youth for hands-on “show, teach, and tell” activities, guiding them through FamilySearch skills—indexing, sourcing, discovering relatives, or preparing temple names—to build confidence and enthusiasm.
Technical and Training Responsibilities
Maintain an active Youth Protection Training certificate (required).
Test, set up, and troubleshoot computers, projectors, and internet connections for all family history activities.
Train members (youth and adults) on FamilySearch, Ancestry, and related tools during classes and one-on-one sessions.
Occasionally coordinate group visits to the Midwest Genealogy Center, managing transportation, scheduling, and follow-up.

This calling weaves communication, teaching, technical support, and multi-level coordination with the Temple and Family History chair, Relief Society counselor, stake council, and ward members—to connect every individual to their family story, temple covenants, and the unified stake and ward vision.
